Removal of zinc, lead and nickel from contaminated soil by electro-kinetic technology under the influence of washing and buoyance forces with different purging solutions

The effects of the washing process, purging solution, and buoyance force (inclined topography action) on effectivity electro-kinetic method used to remediate a silty clay loam natural soils contaminated with Zn, Pb and/or Ni were investigated by applying 12 different experiments. results revealed that process can cause small increase in Zn removal efficiency (? 31%) when compared non-washing approach using distilled water solution. Using 0.1 M EDTA solution for soil listed metals combination lead significant efficiencies percentages not greater than 58.4, 60.68 or 42.8%, respectively. In presence EDTA, however, majority passed through media anode area. contrast, these are accumulated near cathodic region water. demonstrated (resulted from inclination angle 30°) had adverse influence metal profile along treated soil. Finally, certified coupled is new hybrid technique which achieved reached 58% improving solubilization transport ions.
